Cotton Bowl Experience
Annually, the Sport Management Program at Texas A&M University arranges for up to 12 students to work on location at the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic. The event is held at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The students assist the Cotton Bowl staff with the execution of the event beginning December 27th, and help see through their responsibilities through game day. The Cotton Bowl Experience is an opportunity presented to both undergraduate and graduate current HLKN students. For undergraduate students, this event can count towards your Top Gun status. An application and interview process is conducted by Dr. Hudson. An event this large has various components including media relations, marketing and promotions, and event management, which allows for HLKN students to gain a well-rounded experience. Our agreement with the Cotton Bowl is that our students will be supervised by Dr. Shane Hudson and assist the Cotton Bowl staff as needed.
The 2016 Cotton Bowl Experience was highlighted by an increased social media presence by LSIA, which was fueled by the students who were a part of the week-long event. Through various social network mediums, students promoted and informed others of the activities and efforts executed by the students during their time at the Cotton Bowl Experience.
