Welcome to Laboratory for the Study of Intercollegiate Athletics
Annually, the Sport Management Program at Texas A&M University arranges for up to 12 students to work on location at the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic. The event is held at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The students assist the Cotton Bowl staff with the execution of the event beginning December 26th, and help see through their responsibilities through game day. The successful partnership will continue for 2018 allowing for up to 10 students to work on location at the NCAA Division I Football Championship game. The event is held at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas. The students will assist the FCS staff with the execution of the event through game day on January 6th. The FCS Experience is an opportunity presented to both undergraduate and graduate current HLKN students. An application and interview process is conducted by Dr. Hudson.

The History of LSIA
The Laboratory examines major concepts and issues related to the management and conduct of all levels of intercollegiate athletics, including those related to: organizational effectiveness and efficiency, social responsibility and ethics, revenue generation, leadership, organizational control and planning, reform and organizational change, fiscal management, gender equity, diversity, legal aspects and compliance, career attainment processes, and marketing.
